Where to Start in Poker

Unknown to many is that poker is not just one game but a variety of types of one game all coming under the umbrella called poker. Today’s poker clubs are apt to include many variations of the game and once this hits the would-be poker player, they will probably find choosing a type of poker to begin their learning of the game really dicey.

Of primary interest is which game is the easiest to learn and also the which games pay out the best rake. The answer to the question as to which game is the easiest to learn may surprise you.

The easy game to learn is Draw Poker and the difficult game to learn is Stud Poker. In addition, they have very similar rules for the most common types of 7meter, although some are slightly different. e.g. Texas Holdem, Omaha, Seven Card Stud and Eight or Better Stud Poker. While you can make a profit playing Stud Poker, it is by no means necessary. I mean, if you are paying the small bets, there is every chance you will lose; whereas, playing Draw Poker, you are called primarily on your hand.

Draw Poker is easier to learn than Holdem because the players are not fighting each other but Holding two cards, there is no bluffing or other deceptive tactics. It is just a matter of having a good hand and making a hand. The betting rounds are also characteristic of Draw Poker.

Stud Poker, on the other hand, is the game that requires some experience and skill before the player can start beating other players at the table. The player should have developed some reading and hand-reading ability before they start playing Stud Poker.

It also must be mentioned that Stud Poker is very similar to the Seven Card Stud variety of the game although the main difference is that in this variation, the players are dealt seven cards rather than two. Yes, the cards are dealt in Seven Card Stud too but in this game, the players are dealt a total of five cards and must decide who among them is the better hand.

The great thing about Stud Poker is that it is one of the most social games in a casino. It offers a lot of opportunities for interaction between players. The game is played with a standard 52 card deck and as the cards are dealt from the deck, the players will make a hand with the best or the highest card.

Sometimes, the player will make a bet and other times they will fold their hand to bet the next card on the deck. The players have the liberty to change the card in their hand any time as the game progresses. This changing of cards is to make the hand straights or flushes. However, the high risk of losing the round is too high as the cards are not drawn in sequence and the order of cards is quite important.

The main object of the game is to beat the dealer. The way to do this is to have the better hand than him. If both of your cards are the same, then you would have a tie and neither of your cards wins. This is the reason as to why the high stakes poker has become the defining game of the world. The presence of love poker in the Las Vegas casinos showed the world that a man can indeed make money playing the game.
